Had Enough?

and other questions of pride

The photographs in this series were taken at consecutive gay pride parades in the mid-90s in San Francisco. This was the height of the AIDS epidemic. It is my hope that these photographs capture some part of the atmosphere at these events.

The photographs in this series were shot with a cult classic, the Diana camera. The Diana was originally marketed as a novelty item and found in toy stores. With cheap plastic lens and rudimentary controls the Diana allows the photographer to focus on the image instead of the technology. These photographs were first shown in March of 2011 at Axis Gallery, Sacramento California.
